and a fully re-stocked cupboard (in case you were wondering what that was)

january 26

it snowed again

january 25

i always look out the window above our bed in the morning to see what the weather's like outside.

january 24

january 23

it rained, which i was happy about because it washed away the pollution, and helped melt some of the snow and ice that had been making it impossible to park anywhere.

january 17

new shoes.
they make me feel grown-up.
they were only $3, on sale at old navy.
i was coveting them way back when they cost $30, so this was quite a steal

i might make cyanotypes out of these babies.

a fuji lift we made in my alternative class.
i was the photographer,
katie modeled,

january 13

i've got to admit this one was one of those last ditch efforts just to get a photo. it's the corner of our bed.

january 12

andy and i went for an evening walk (despite the icy sidewalks) and i totally loved photographing this shrub because it reminded of an aerial shot of a two dimensional forest.

january 11

my fruit bowl overfloweth

january 10

our bikes, which we've abandoned for the winter

january 6

this is a leaf off of my rubbertree plant. i love how glossy they are.

so as you may have noticed, most of my images so far have just been around the house things because i put off my daily photo until late at night and my options are limited at that point. i really need to start taking my camera with me everywhere.

better things to come, i promise.

january 5

the glorious snow that fell and fell (and is still falling) lured us out to ring in our new year and new semester with a little sledding expedition.

january 4

todays photo should have been of a plane or an airport, but my nonstop sinus headache and mega-cold symptoms kept me pretty busy while we were traveling.
i took this when we got home.
to me, it says "these boots weren't really meant for walking. lets stay home from now on"

january 3

this was hurriedly taken late at night in my room in montreal.
we were in the middle of packing to go home on our early morning flight.

january 2

andy and i both had colds, and the weather was below zero, so we spent the day huddling near the radiators in my dad's apartment

january 1

the first of they year in montreal was spent entertaining family.
my dad is a master chef, so the menu was :
oyster soup
duck in a green pepper sauce
potato, carrot, and sweet potato purées
cheese platter
tarte tatin (french upside down caramel apple pie)

the project

for 2009 i've decided (at the urging of photojojo) to make a new years photo resolution:

i will take a picture every day.

i think this project will help me to open my eyes more and to see the beauty in the ordinary things around me.
i've created this blog to post my daily photos, and will do my best to update as often as possible.

so here's to 2009 and to taking photos daily.

happy new year, enjoy!
